I really enjoy English language as a subject, last year language and gender theory was my favourite as I found it very interesting and enjoyed doing wider reading around the topic. I also really enjoyed learning about accents and dialects and how language varies so significantly from place to place. I found the analysis side the most challenging, although I am planning on improving my vocabulary this year. I also often find it a lot easier to draft my work several times before I hand it in as I find it difficult to initially word what I want to say.
I feel like my past has greatly influenced my writing style, as I used to read and write stories a lot as a child which is where I believe my passion for language comes from. I also feel like my inquisitive personality has aided my love of language theories and concepts as I like to know 'why' and 'how' things happen.
I do not currently have a job as I like to prioritise my college work although I have considered a part time job perhaps for the Christmas term. In the far future I would hopefully like to have an English Language based career, possibly in the field of investigative journalism as this is what I am passionate about and feel I would enjoy.
A useful insight into your approach - thank you :) Proofread for clarity and really pay attention to how punctuation can create cohesion and flow. You use "as" as a conjunction frequently and could seek to add more variety. I'm sure you would make a great journo!
